At Daydream Games, board games are our passion. We believe in the power of board games to bring families and friends together. They create opportunities to learn from one another through shared experiences. We especially enjoy collaborating with small game creators and experiencing their love for their craft. Unfortunately, many creators struggle to market their games and share their joy with the world. This challenge motivated us to create the Daydream Games Board Game Society. Our mission is to connect great games from small creators with the audience they deserve. In the process, we discover hidden gems that might otherwise have never crossed our path.
Game of the Month Selection Process
Each month, we hand-pick one game submitted to us to be our game of the month. All of our selections are showcased throughout the year at select conventions, in our store, and on www.Daydream-Games.com. We take each game submission seriously. We play it multiple times before giving it a play rating. Next, we decide whether it fits within our program. Our rating system considers the game’s components, replayability, fluidity, and much more. The game must also originate from a small creator or publisher and fit within our price range.
Once selected, we always ask if the game creator can provide an "extra" for our subscribers. This has ranged from autographed copies to expansion packs and unique swag. After that, we order a large quantity of games to satisfy our subscribers, in-store customers, and online customers.
Shipping and Subscriber Options
Once this process is complete, we start shipping games to our subscribers! We provide the option for someone to opt out of the current game and instead receive a previous month’s game. This helps prevent people from having two copies of the same game or receiving a game they aren’t interested in.
The game’s promotion continues beyond its featured month. We take it to various conventions where new players can demo and buy the game. We also release a filmed review of the game on YouTube. In this review, we explain our favorite parts and why it was selected for the Board Game Society. Our hope is that this gives the game another boost in public interest and exposure to a new audience.
Celebrating Our First Year
Our first year of the Board Game Society has just finished, and we are thrilled with the results. We have made many new friends and had amazing opportunities to work with various people. We have learned a lot through this process, and we get a little better every day!
As part of our first year, our subscribers selected Pillage the Village as the very first Board Game Society Game of the Year. We were able to meet with creator Jesse Stone of Stone Age Entertainment and present him with a plaque honoring this achievement. You can follow progress on his next game, “The Wanderer,” here. Or pick up your very own copy of Pillage the Village below!
If you would like to take advantage of this amazing opportunity to get rare gems in the mail once a month, you can Subscribe Here.
If you are a small creator and would like to submit a game for potential inclusion in the program or for a YouTube review, you can do so here.

We really appreciate our subscription to the Board Game Society! Not only do we enjoy supporting small creators and/or publishers but we also like receiving games that we might not normally reach for. An example is Logic & Lore, which was the November (2025) game of the month. Don't get me wrong, beautiful box art but we don't typically go for "deduction" games. However, this is now up there as one of our favorite two-player games! Always exciting knowing there is something fresh and new headed our way thanks to the Board Game Society!
